She joined the Freedom Cruisers Riding Club in 2009 and was given the nickname “Flyer.” She was an avid volunteer, always wanting to help others which included donating items to the local Abused Women’s and Children’s Center, volunteering at the Detroit Zoo, and welcoming home military personnel at the United Service Organization (USO). She enjoyed spending time with her mom, Helen and sister, Carol, her children and especially her grandchildren Vince, Alex and Mateo. She was survived by her loving daughters, Karen (Jim) McCombs and their family, as well as Gina (Ed) Zarate, three grandsons Vince, Alex and Mateo; mother, Helen Czapla; sister, Carol Bush; ex-husband, Bill; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and her loyal dog, Windsor.
